I have held top leadership positions at the University of Strathclyde continuously for over 2 decades. Strathclyde is a research-intensive university, based in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. I have held senior positions in the Faculty of Engineering including as Vice Dean Research and as Vice Dean Strategy, and I have also held the position of Associate Deputy Principal for Research (equivalent to a Deputy Provost) for the whole university. Through these positions, and the experience gained while serving, I have acquired the ability to exercise sound judgement, to encourage and enthuse students and academics, to formulate strategic directions of travel, to be open-minded and take in all points of view during discussions and decision-making. I am analytical, paying close attention to detail, and understand the importance of being thoroughly prepared before meetings. I am collaborative and respectful of individuals, regardless of their roles and positions in an organization. I believe with the skills and experience described above, I am very well qualified to successfully deliver as an IEEE Division Director.
